The post entails assisting the Head of Department in the development of structural expertise and skills within the department, business development and the management of projects and bids. The position will also involve the management of a small team of graduate engineers, the generation of structural calculations employing advanced numerical modelling and other techniques, the production of structural drawings in support of project work, and certification of deliverables.Further Details
The successful applicant will be a Chartered Naval Architect with extensive structures experience gained within the commercial and MoD environments. Technical expertise will be coupled with the desire and drive to keep the department at the forefront of structural analysis developments and to pass on their knowledge and skills to others. They must be able to work independently or as part of a team either in our office in Bath or on site at shipyards (mainly UK, occasionally worldwide). Previous supervisory/management experience is desirable.The rewards for this position will include a competitive salary, contributory ‘final salary' pension scheme, 25 days' holiday, a Company profit share and a Group wide profit share according to length of service.
